Principals
Timothy J. Clark formed ESCP in 2004. Mr. Clark previously worked for the Blackstone Group (1988 to 1990), Edgcomb Metals Company (a Blackstone portfolio company, 1990 to 1991), Joseph Littlejohn & Levy (1993 to 1999) and Bear Stearns Merchant Banking Partners (1999 to 2004), where most recently, he was a senior managing director and a partner in its $1.5 billion private equity fund. Mr. Clark earned a BA from Bucknell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Advisors
Mr. Thomas Swain began advising ESCP in 2004 on financial services investment opportunities. Mr. Swain previously led the Insurance Group for the investment banking department of Bear Stearns & Company from 1991 to 2000. He currently serves on the board of directors of the New York life insurance subsidiary of American Equity Investment Life Holding Company (NYSE: AEL).
Mr. Alex Ilkgelen began advising ESCP in 2008 on the financing of new investments and portfolio companies. Mr. Ilkgelen previously was a Director in the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank and prior to that at Bear Stearns Companies. Mr. Ilkgelen earned a BA in economics from Harvard University and an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School.

Mr. John Sudol began consulting with ESCP in 2005 on the operations of portfolio companies. Mr. Sudol previously served as the Vice President of Operations for Sensors, Inc. and began his career with General Electric. Mr. Sudol earned a BS and MS from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
